How Astex PRISTINE® can reduce allergy suffering in pregnancy
and for babies and children

A five-year study funded by the British Lung Foundation and the National Asthma Campaign found that pregnant women who suffer from allergies are more likely to have babies who develop allergies and asthma.

Researchers found that it is possible to minimise the risk of the baby developing allergies and asthma by reducing a woman’s exposure to allergens while she is pregnant. Astex PRISTINE® Encasements are recommended for pregnant allergy sufferers.

If you are an adult with asthma the chances are that it will not go away although the symptoms can often be controlled by treatment and avoiding known triggers if possible. National Asthma Campaign.

The long term effects of steroids have yet to be evaluated. Meanwhile the use of Astex PRISTINE® Encasements will help you to manage the asthma problem and improve your quality of life.

Emergency hospital attendance reduced by 45%

In June 2017 a study was completed (by Clare S. Murray of the University of Manchester – Department of Infection, Immunity and Respiratory Medicine) using Astex Pristine Encasements with mite sensitised asthmatic children.

The risk of emergency hospital attendance was reduced by 45% by fitting Astex PRISTINE® Encasements to the mattress, duvet and pillow.

Therefore we are able to conclude that allergic attacks overall were correspondingly reduced.

Astex PRISTINE® Encasements fabric is NOT chemically treated and is safe for babies and children. The minute pore size of the tightly woven fabric (5.9 microns) prevents 99% of all allergens from passing through.
